What are your standard Energy-Saving features?
At Porter Contracting we provide open cell foam for insulation over the living area roof deck. This allows our customers an energy savings up to 30% on their FPL bill. Ask what we do as a bonus to complete this insulation envelope! We also use Low-E, Insulated, and tinted windows and sliding glass doors which blocks ¾ of the sun’s heat energy, transmits 64% less solar energy and insulates 50% better than standard clear insulation glass. A 15 SEER HVAC system is our standard as well.

Do your home construction standards qualify us for homeowner’s Insurance credits?
Yes, in fact multiple discounts. Our greatest is the rubber peel & stick roofing underlay, which turns into a substantial savings over the course of the lifetime of your home. In addition to this discount, there is “peace of mind” of knowing you have the added protection of that “Secondary Water Barrier” in case of a windstorm.

Will you remain my primary point of contact throughout the entire process?
At Porter Contracting, Inc., the Project Manager/Owner, will be the primary contact person throughout the building process. In addition to your primary contact, all staff will be able to assist you and get any questions that your may have, answered in a timely manner.

What will happen if there is a change order?
Change orders can be easily handled in your construction contract. We document change orders in writing, where the change in scope of work and the price are noted and signed by the client and contractor. Some changes can affect the job time-line as well, and that would be assessed and documented on a case by case basis.
